Job Description

If so, Universal Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Music, Art, & Recreational Therapist (MART) to join our team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals and make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.   1. Develop and implement music, art, and recreational therapy programs for patients based on their individual needs and treatment goals.
  2. Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities to support patients' emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate music, art, and recreational therapy into patients' overall treatment plans.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  5. Assess patients' progress and adjust therapy interventions as needed to ensure the most effective outcomes.
  6. Provide guidance and support to patients as they engage in creative expression and recreational activities.
  7. Educate patients and their families about the benefits of music, art, and recreational therapy and how it can contribute to their overall well-being.
  8. Stay current on advancements and research in the field of music, art, and recreational therapy and incorporate new techniques and strategies into treatment plans.
  9. Adhere to ethical and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and respecting patients' rights.
  10. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other collaborative activities to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  11. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients during therapy sessions.
  12. Serve as an advocate for the use of music, art, and recreation in healthcare settings and advocate for the profession of music, art, and recreational therapy.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve therapy programs based on patient outcomes and feedback.
  14. Work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds and adapt therapy techniques to meet their cultural and individual needs.
  15. Maintain licensure and certifications as required by state regulations and professional standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certification Or Licensure As A Music Therapist, Art Therapist, Or Recreation Therapist.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Or Therapeutic Setting, Preferably With Individuals With Mental Health Or Substance Abuse Disorders.

  • Knowledge Of Various Therapeutic Techniques And Interventions For Individuals Of All Ages And Abilities.

  • Ability To Work On A Prn (As Needed) Basis, Including Weekends And Evenings.
