
Mental Health Tech (RBT) - Day Shift

- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients struggling with mental health challenges.
- Create a safe and therapeutic environment for patients through effective communication and crisis management skills.
- Utilize knowledge and training as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to implement behavior support plans and interventions.
- Monitor and document patient progress and behaviors, and report any concerns or changes to the treatment team.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including therapists and psychiatrists, to ensure coordinated and effective care for patients.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude, fostering a culture of respect and support for patients and colleagues.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality and following safety protocols.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, trainings, and other professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records and progress notes.
- Educate patients and their families on coping skills, self-care, and resources available for ongoing support.
- Assist with daily tasks and activities, such as meal times, hygiene routines, and recreational activities.
- Remain aware of and report any potential risks or safety concerns in the facility.
- Continuously assess and improve upon treatment strategies to meet the individual needs of each patient.
- Provide support and guidance for patients in crisis, using de-escalation techniques and appropriate interventions.
- Act as an advocate for patients, promoting their autonomy and helping them to achieve their treatment goals.
Bachelor's Degree In Psychology Or Related Field: A Mental Health Tech (Rbt) At Universal Health Services Should Have A Strong Educational Background In Psychology Or A Related Field. This Will Provide Them With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Work With Patients Who Have Mental Health Disorders.
Certification As A Registered Behavior Technician (Rbt): To Work As A Mental Health Tech (Rbt) At Universal Health Services, The Candidate Should Have A Valid Certification As A Registered Behavior Technician. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Training In Applied Behavior Analysis (Aba) And Is Able To Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (Bips) Effectively.
Prior Experience Working With Individuals With Mental Health Disorders: Universal Health Services Prefers Candidates Who Have Prior Experience Working With Individuals Who Have Mental Health Disorders. This Could Include Experience As A Mental Health Tech, Behavioral Therapist, Or Working In A Similar Capacity In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Mental Health Tech (Rbt), The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Their Families, And A Multidisciplinary Team. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential To Effectively Communicate With All Parties Involved And Provide Quality Care To Patients.
Ability To Work Day Shift Hours: This Particular Job At Universal Health Services Requires The Candidate To Work Day Shift Hours.
