This role is a vital part of our organization, as you will be responsible for assisting and supporting our patients during the evening shift (3PM-11PM) on Monday to Friday. - Provide compassionate and high-quality care to individuals struggling with mental health issues.
- Assist and support patients during the evening shift (3PM-11PM) on Monday to Friday.
- Act as a vital part of the organization by ensuring the well-being and safety of patients.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, their families, and other staff members.
- Monitor and document patient activities, behaviors, and progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
- Use effective communication skills to de-escalate and manage crisis situations.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients in their recovery journey.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for the safety and comfort of patients.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other professional development opportunities.
- Continuously educate oneself on mental health issues and treatment methods.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Experience In Behavioral Health: A Mental Health Tech At Universal Health Services Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Behavioral Health Setting. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Common Mental Health Disorders, Treatment Modalities, And Crisis Intervention Techniques.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In A Mental Health Facility, And A Mental Health Tech Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Flexibility And Adaptability: Working In A Behavioral Health Hospital Can Be Unpredictable, And A Mental Health Tech Should Be Able To Adapt To Changing Situations Quickly. This Includes Being Flexible With Work Schedules And Duties As Needed.
Empathy And Compassion: A Mental Health Tech Must Have A Genuine Desire To Help Others And Be Able To Show Empathy And Compassion Towards Patients. This Is Crucial In Creating A Safe And Supportive Environment For Patients To Receive Treatment.
Team Player: Working As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team Is A Key Aspect Of The Mental Health Tech Role At Universal Health Services.
