- Conduct initial intake assessments for patients seeking treatment at Universal Health Services.
- Coordinate and facilitate the admission process for patients, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed and accurate.
- Communicate with patients, their families, and healthcare providers to gather necessary information and provide updates on the admission process.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to determine appropriate level of care for each patient.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment options, procedures, and expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in regards to patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Handle inquiries and referrals from external sources, such as healthcare providers and insurance companies.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the intake process to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide support and guidance to patients and their families throughout the admission process.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain authorization for treatment.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, their families, and the treatment team.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments, regulations, and best practices related to intake coordination.
- Uphold the mission and values of Universal Health Services in all interactions with patients, their families, and the community.
- Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients, their families, and colleagues.
Valid Rn License: The Intake Coordinator Must Have A Current And Valid Registered Nursing License In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Ensures They Have The Necessary Clinical Knowledge And Skills To Assess Patients And Coordinate Their Care.
Previous Experience In Mental Health: Universal Health Services Specializes In Behavioral Health, So It Is Essential For An Intake Coordinator To Have Previous Experience Working In A Mental Health Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Psychiatric Disorders, Treatment Modalities, And Crisis Intervention.
Strong Assessment And Communication Skills: As The First Point Of Contact For Patients Seeking Mental Health Treatment, The Intake Coordinator Must Have Excellent Assessment And Communication Skills. This Includes The Ability To Gather Information, Ask Appropriate Questions, And Effectively Communicate Treatment Options To Patients And Their Families.
