Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required To Become An Infection Control Nurse At Universal Health Services. This Degree Provides The Necessary Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice To Effectively Manage Infection Control Protocols And Procedures.
Certification In Infection Control (Cic): Candidates For This Role Should Possess A Certification In Infection Control From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic). This Certification Demonstrates A Thorough Understanding Of Infection Control Principles And Practices.
Clinical Experience In Infection Prevention: Prior Experience In Infection Control Or A Related Field Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience, Preferably In A Hospital Setting, To Effectively Identify And Manage Infection Risks.
Knowledge Of Infection Control Regulations And Guidelines: An Infection Control Nurse Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Infection Control Regulations And Guidelines Set By National And International Bodies, Such As The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (Cdc) And The World Health Organization (Who).
