Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our team at Universal Health Services.   1. Perform histological procedures on tissue samples in accordance with standard protocols and procedures.
  2. Prepare tissue samples for examination, including embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision of results.
  4. Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and results.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and discrepancies in results.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in histology techniques and equipment.
  9. Train and mentor junior histology technicians on proper techniques and procedures.
  10. Participate in quality control and assurance programs to maintain high standards of accuracy and precision.
  11. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  12. Communicate effectively with colleagues and healthcare professionals to provide updates on sample processing and results.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling patient samples and information.
  14. Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  15. Work collaboratively with other members of the laboratory team to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of results.
  16. Contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols.
  17. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
  18. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory manager or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification Or Associate's Degree In Histotechnology Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Histology Laboratory

  • Knowledge Of Tissue Processing, Embedding, Microtomy, And Staining Techniques

  • Familiarity With Laboratory Safety Protocols And Quality Control Standards

  • Ability To Accurately Document And Maintain Records Of Laboratory Procedures And Results.
