Job Description

  1. Prepare and serve meals to patients according to their dietary and nutritional needs, as directed by the registered dietician or physician.
  2. Monitor and document patients' food and fluid intake and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
  3. Maintain kitchen and dining areas in a clean and sanitary condition, following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  4. Restock and maintain inventory of food and supplies, ensuring that all items are within expiration dates and meet dietary requirements.
  5. Assist with meal planning and menu development, taking into consideration individual patient needs and preferences.
  6. Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure that meals are prepared and served on time, and that special dietary requests are accommodated.
  7. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
  8. Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to food service and nutrition.
  9. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on dietary protocols and procedures.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting a supportive and welcoming environment for patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Typically Required For A Dietary Aide Position At Universal Health Services.

  • Previous Experience In Food Service: While Not Always Required, Previous Experience In A Food Service Or Kitchen Setting Is Highly Desirable For A Dietary Aide Position. This Experience Can Demonstrate A Basic Understanding Of Food Preparation And Safety Protocols.

  • Knowledge Of Dietary Restrictions And Nutrition: A Strong Understanding Of Different Dietary Restrictions And Nutritional Needs Is Essential For A Dietary Aide At Universal Health Services.   • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: A Dietary Aide At Universal Health Services Must Be Able To Work Efficiently And Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment. This May Involve Multitasking, Prioritizing Tasks, And Working Under Pressure To Meet Deadlines.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Dietary Aide, You Will Be Working Closely With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team, Including Nurses, Physicians, And Other Dietary Staff. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Necessary To Ensure Smooth Operations And Provide High-Quality Care To Patients.
