  1. Review and analyze medical records to identify areas for improvement in documentation accuracy and specificity.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare providers to educate and train them on best practices for clinical documentation.
  3. Conduct regular audits and provide feedback to healthcare providers on their documentation.
  4. Identify and report documentation deficiencies to appropriate departments for resolution.
  5. Stay updated on industry regulations and changes related to clinical documentation and ensure compliance.
  6. Implement documentation improvement strategies and processes to enhance overall quality of patient care.
  7. Work closely with coding and billing teams to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  8. Maintain thorough and organized documentation of all clinical documentation improvement activities.
  9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide insights and recommendations for documentation improvement.
  10. Serve as a resource and point of contact for healthcare providers regarding documentation questions and concerns.
  11. Collaborate with IT and other departments to improve electronic health record systems and templates for better documentation.
  12. Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical documentation improvement initiatives and make necessary adjustments.
  13. Promote a culture of excellence in clinical documentation throughout the organization.
  14. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advances in clinical documentation improvement.
  15. Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures in handling patient information.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Health Information Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement Or Healthcare Coding.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Icd-10 Coding Guidelines And Official Coding Guidelines.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Healthcare Providers And Other Team Members.

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Ccds) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification Preferred.
