  1. Generate and submit accurate and timely medical bills and claims to insurance companies and patients.
  2. Monitor and track outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
  3. Review and verify patient insurance information to ensure proper billing.
  4. Assist patients with questions and concerns regarding their bills and insurance coverage.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate coding.
  6. Maintain knowledge of insurance regulations and changes in billing procedures.
  7. Keep detailed and organized records of billing activities and transactions.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to resolve billing issues.
  9. Utilize billing software and systems to process claims and maintain accurate patient information.
  10. Work closely with other members of the billing team to ensure efficient and effective billing processes.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  12. Identify areas for process improvement and make recommendations to streamline billing operations.
  13. Train and mentor new billing team members as needed.
  14. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  15. Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Medical Billing Systems: A Biller/Billing Rep At Universal Health Services Should Be Familiar With Commonly Used Medical Billing Systems Such As Epic, Cerner, Or Meditech.

  • Understanding Of Insurance Billing Processes: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Insurance Billing Processes, Including Verification Of Insurance Coverage, Claim Submission, And Follow-Up On Denied Or Rejected Claims.

  • Attention To Detail: A High Level Of Attention To Detail Is Essential For This Role, As The Biller/Billing Rep Will Be Responsible For Accurately Inputting And Reviewing Patient Information And Billing Codes.

  • Communication Skills: Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills Are Necessary For This Role, As The Biller/Billing Rep Will Be In Regular Contact With Insurance Companies, Patients, And Healthcare Providers To Resolve Billing Issues.

  • Familiarity With Healthcare Regulations: The Candidate Should Have A Working Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance, Such As Hipaa And Medicare Guidelines, To Ensure That All Billing Practices Are In Accordance With Legal Requirements.
