  1. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients struggling with behavioral health issues.
  2. Assist patients with daily tasks and activities, such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  3. Monitor and document patient behavior, progress, and responses to treatment.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  5. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
  6. Utilize de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies when necessary.
  7. Administer medications and monitor patients for any potential side effects.
  8. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
  9. Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions.
  10. Adhere to all policies and procedures, as well as ethical and legal standards.
  11. Attend trainings and educational opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge in the field of behavioral health.
  12. Report any concerns or changes in patient behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of patients and their families.
  14. Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere for patients and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Education And Training: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, But Many Employers Prefer Candidates With An Associate's Or Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Psychology, Social Work, Or Counseling.

  • Experience In Behavioral Health: Previous Experience Working With Individuals With Mental Health Or Substance Abuse Disorders Is Highly Valued. This Could Include Work In A Residential Treatment Facility, Psychiatric Hospital, Or Community Mental Health Center.

  • Knowledge Of Behavioral Health Disorders: Bhts Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Various Mental Health And Substance Abuse Disorders, As Well As The Treatment Approaches And Interventions Used To Address Them.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Bhts Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills In Order To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Members Of The Treatment Team. They Should Also Be Empathetic, Patient, And Able To Build Rapport With Individuals Who May Be Struggling With Mental Health Issues.

  • Ability To Work In A Team Environment: Bhts Will Work Closely With Other Mental Health Professionals, Including Therapists, Nurses, And Psychiatrists, To Develop And Implement Treatment Plans For Patients. Therefore, The Ability To Collaborate And Work Effectively Within A Team Is Essential For This Role.
