
Behavioral Health Admission Nurse (RN)/FULL TIME 12 hours shifts

- Conduct thorough assessments: Perform initial assessments on patients seeking behavioral health treatment to evaluate their mental health status, identify any potential risks, and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Admit patients: Utilize your nursing expertise to admit patients into our facility, ensuring a smooth and efficient admission process while adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team: Work closely with a team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide ongoing support: Act as a primary point of contact for patients throughout their treatment journey, providing emotional support, monitoring their progress, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Administer medications: Administer medications to patients as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Document patient information: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress in electronic medical records, following all HIPAA guidelines.
- Educate patients and families: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and aftercare plans to promote understanding and improve outcomes.
- Monitor patient safety: Monitor patient safety and intervene as needed to prevent any potential harm to patients or others in the facility.
- Adhere to quality standards: Ensure all nursing practices adhere to state and federal regulations, as well as the facility's quality standards and best practices.
- Participate in training and development: Attend training sessions and seminars to enhance your knowledge and skills related to behavioral health nursing and stay updated on industry advancements and best practices.
- Maintain a positive work environment: Promote a positive and supportive work environment by collaborating with colleagues, providing assistance when needed, and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Promote the facility: Represent the facility positively in the community and serve as an advocate for mental health awareness and treatment options.
Valid Rn License: A Behavioral Health Admission Nurse Must Possess A Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License From The State In Which They Will Be Practicing.
Previous Experience In Behavioral Health: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Behavioral Health Setting, Preferably In An Admission Or Intake Role.
Strong Assessment And Communication Skills: As An Admission Nurse, The Ability To Assess Patients' Mental Health Needs And Communicate Effectively With Them And Their Families Is Crucial.
Knowledge Of Psychiatric Medications And Treatment Modalities: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Different Psychiatric Medications And Treatment Modalities Commonly Used In Behavioral Health, As They Will Be Responsible For Educating Patients On Their Treatment Plans.
Ability To Work 12-Hour Shifts: This Position Requires The Candidate To Work 12-Hour Shifts, So They Must Be Able To Handle Long Hours And Potentially Work Nights, Weekends, And Holidays As Needed.
