Job Description

Universal Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients by designing and implementing activity programs that promote physical, emotional, and social development. As an Activity Therapist, you will work with a diverse population and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care. We are looking for candidates with a degree in recreational therapy or a related field, as well as experience working in a mental health setting.   1. Develop and implement creative and therapeutic activity programs to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs and create individualized treatment plans.
  3. Utilize a variety of techniques and modalities to engage patients and facilitate their progress in therapy.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and participation in activities.
  5. Coordinate and communicate with other departments and staff to ensure the smooth delivery of services.
  6. Create a safe and supportive environment for patients to express themselves and engage in therapeutic activities.
  7. Continuously evaluate and modify activity programs to ensure they are effective and meet the needs of patients.
  8. Provide education and support to patients and their families on the benefits of activity therapy.
  9. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the use of therapeutic techniques and interactions with patients.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  11. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in activity therapy to continuously improve treatment methods.
  12. Participate in team meetings and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  14. Adhere to all policies and regulations of the facility and regulatory agencies.
  15. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs).

  • Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Behavioral Health Or Rehabilitation Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Therapeutic Activities And Recreational Interventions For Individuals With Mental Health And/Or Substance Abuse Issues.

  • Ability To Work Independently, As Well As Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team To Develop And Implement Treatment Plans For Patients.
