  1. Monitor and operate utilities systems to ensure efficient and reliable production processes.
  2. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain production levels.
  4. Collaborate with other team members to identify and implement process improvements and optimize efficiency.
  5. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  6. Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and process changes.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues and provide updates on equipment status.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements in technology to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  9. Participate in training programs and continuous learning opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For The Role Of Utilities Department - Operating Technician Ii At United States Steel.

  • Technical Training Or Certification: Candidates Should Have Completed Technical Training Or Certification In Areas Such As Mechanical Or Electrical Systems, Industrial Maintenance, Or Process Technology. This Will Provide A Strong Foundation For Understanding The Complex Systems And Equipment Used In The Utilities Department.

  • Previous Experience In A Manufacturing Or Industrial Setting: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Manufacturing Or Industrial Environment. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Ability To Work With Heavy Equipment And Understand Safety Procedures In A Production Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Utilities Systems And Equipment: A Strong Understanding Of Utilities Systems And Equipment Is Essential For Success In This Role. Candidates Should Have Experience Working With Boilers, Compressors, Pumps, And Other Related Equipment.

  • Physical Stamina And Ability To Work In Demanding Environments: Operating Technicians In The Utilities Department At United States Steel May Be Required To Work In Hot Or Cold Environments, Climb Ladders, And Lift Heavy Objects. Candidates Should Have The Physical Stamina And Ability To Perform These Tasks Safely And Effectively.
