Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to join our team at United States Steel. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and quality in our production operations.   1. Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and quality in production operations.
  2. Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems.
  3. Lead and manage a team of manufacturing engineers to achieve goals and objectives.
  4. Identify and implement cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment.
  6. Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  7. Stay up-to-date with advancements in manufacturing technology and recommend new equipment and techniques to improve operations.

  10. Train and mentor staff to develop their skills and knowledge in manufacturing engineering.
  11. Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing engineering projects and initiatives.
  12. Communicate with upper management to provide updates on performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  13. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive a mindset of excellence in all aspects of manufacturing engineering.
  14. Represent the company in a professional manner and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Manufacturing Engineering Role, Preferably In The Steel Industry.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Manufacturing Processes, Equipment, And Materials Used In Steel Production.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team.

  • Proficiency In Project Management, Problem-Solving, And Continuous Improvement Methodologies Such As Lean And Six Sigma.
