Job Description

Are you a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong background in electrical work? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, industrial environment? United States Steel is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician - Electrical. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities by maintaining and repairing electrical equipment and systems.   1. Perform regular maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and systems in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using a variety of tools and techniques.
  3. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance tasks.
  4. Keep accurate records of maintenance work and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to identify and implement solutions to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  6. Make recommendations for the purchase of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical technology.
  8. Follow all company policies and procedures, including proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  9. Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects and meet production deadlines.
  10. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  11. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  12. Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  13. Follow all lock-out/tag-out procedures and other safety protocols while working on electrical systems.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong Understanding Of Electrical Systems And Equipment: A Qualified Maintenance Technician Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Electrical Systems, Including Wiring, Motors, And Control Panels.

  • Knowledge Of Maintenance Procedures And Safety Protocols: This Role Requires Expertise In Various Maintenance Procedures, As Well As A Strong Understanding Of Safety Protocols To Ensure The Safety Of Oneself And Others.

  • Experience With Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving: Maintenance Technicians Must Be Able To Identify And Solve Problems Efficiently, Especially When Dealing With Complex Electrical Systems.

  • Technical Diploma Or Equivalent Experience: A Diploma In Electrical Engineering Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Role. Alternatively, Equivalent Experience And Training In Electrical Maintenance May Also Be Accepted.

  • Ability To Work Independently And In A Team: A Maintenance Technician Must Be Able To Work Independently, As Well As Collaborate With Other Team Members To Complete Projects And Tasks Efficiently And Effectively.
