LMF Second Helper, BRS
Welcome to United States Steel, one of the largest steel producers in the country. We are currently seeking a dedicated and hard-working individual to join our team as the LMF Second Helper, BRS. As the Second Helper, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the operation and maintenance of our Ladle Metallurgy Furnace (LMF) process. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills and a commitment to safety and quality control. - Assist in the operation of the Ladle Metallurgy Furnace (LMF) process, including setting up and monitoring equipment, and conducting quality control checks.
- Work closely with the LMF operator to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the process.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and adhere to all safety protocols while working in and around the LMF.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that may arise during the LMF process.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to LMF operations and maintenance.
- Keep accurate records of production and quality control data.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and suggest ways to increase efficiency and productivity in the LMF process.
- Attend training sessions and acquire new skills and knowledge related to LMF operations and maintenance.
- Adhere to all company rules and regulations, including those related to attendance and punctuality.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve team goals and targets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The First Qualification For A Lmf Second Helper, Brs Job At United States Steel Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Ability To Learn And Follow Instructions.
Previous Experience In A Steel Manufacturing Environment: Candidates For This Role Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Steel Manufacturing Environment, Preferably In A Similar Position. This Will Ensure They Have A Basic Understanding Of The Industry And The Equipment And Processes Involved.
Strong Mechanical Aptitude: As A Lmf Second Helper, Brs, Candidates Should Possess A Strong Mechanical Aptitude And Be Able To Troubleshoot And Repair Equipment As Needed. This Requires A Good Understanding Of Mechanics And The Ability To Work With Tools And Machinery.
Physical Fitness And Ability To Work In A Physically Demanding Environment: Working In A Steel Manufacturing Plant Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring Individuals To Stand, Walk, And Lift Heavy Objects For Long Periods Of Time. Candidates For This Role Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Team Player With Good Communication Skills: The Lmf Second Helper, Brs Will Work As Part Of A Team, And Therefore Should Possess Good Communication Skills And Be Able To Work Well With Others. This Includes Being Able To Take Direction, Contribute Ideas, And Communicate Effectively With Team Members And Supervisors.
