Job Description

The United States Department of Labor is looking for an experienced and passionate Chief Evaluation Officer to join our team and help us continue to shape the future of our country. We are looking for an individual who is an effective communicator and leader, knowledgeable in best practices in evaluation, and has a commitment to public service. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, management, economics, or a related field. Additionally, the candidate must have at least five years of experience in evaluation, research, strategy development, and/or policy development. Experience in the public sector, particularly at the Department of Labor, is preferred. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a difference in the lives of all Americans. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement evaluation strategies and best practices to measure the effectiveness of the Department of Labor's programs, initiatives, and policies.
  2. Work with program managers to create and refine evaluation designs and methodologies.
  3. Develop effective communication strategies to communicate evaluation results to stakeholders.
  4. Lead and mentor team members in evaluation best practices and techniques.
  5. Identify and recommend areas for improvement and develop solutions to address them.
  6. Develop evaluation plans and timelines that meet the Department's needs.
  7. Collaborate with other governmental and community organizations to ensure successful evaluation efforts.
  8. Work with policymakers to ensure that evaluation results are used to inform decisions.
  9. Monitor and analyze trends in the labor market and ensure the Department of Labor is taking appropriate action.
  10. Stay current on relevant policies, legislation, and other information related to evaluation and the Department of Labor.
