- Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure efficient and safe transportation of goods across the Union Pacific Railroad network
- Analyze data and make critical decisions to optimize train schedules and routes
- Collaborate with various departments, including operations, engineering, and customer service, to coordinate transportation plans
- Monitor and track train movements, identifying and resolving any issues that may impact schedules
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on train schedules and any potential delays or disruptions
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Utilize transportation planning software and tools to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and customers to ensure smooth transportation operations
- Train and mentor junior transportation planners to ensure a cohesive and knowledgeable team
- Participate in meetings and presentations to share updates and recommendations with leadership and other departments.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders And Present Complex Information In A Clear And Concise Manner.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Transportation Regulations And Policies.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Or A Related Field.
At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Transportation Planning, Preferably In The Railroad Industry.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret And Analyze Data To Make Informed Decisions.
