  1. Develop and implement efficient and effective transportation plans for Union Pacific Railroad's freight operations.
  2. Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight.
  3. Utilize strategic thinking and strong analytical skills to identify and resolve transportation challenges.
  4. Monitor and analyze transportation data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  5. Collaborate with customers to understand their transportation needs and provide solutions.
  6. Work closely with other transportation planners and operational teams to optimize network efficiency.
  7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  8. Continuously evaluate and improve transportation processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other transportation partners.
  10. Communicate transportation plans and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Train and mentor new transportation planners.
  12. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in transportation planning.
  13. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve overall transportation operations.
  14. Adhere to safety standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  15. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation plans and operations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Experience In Transportation Planning, Preferably In The Railroad Industry

  • Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Transportation Regulations And Policies

  • Proficiency In Gis Software And Other Transportation Planning Tools

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Analyze Complex Data And Develop Effective Solutions For Transportation Planning Projects
