  1. Perform regular maintenance and repairs on Union Pacific Railroad tracks to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  2. Conduct inspections to identify any potential hazards or issues with the tracks and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
  3. Operate specialized equipment and tools to maintain and repair tracks, such as rail saws, spike drivers, and rail grinders.
  4. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures while performing track maintenance tasks.
  5. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and complete projects in a timely manner.
  6. Monitor and report any changes or abnormalities in track conditions, such as cracks, breaks, or shifting.
  7. Perform routine track maintenance tasks, including replacing rail ties, repairing switches, and adjusting track alignment.
  8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on tracks.
  9. Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
  10. Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times, including those related to safety, attendance, and punctuality.
  11. Continuously improve skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and development opportunities provided by the company.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment.
  13. Respond to emergency situations and assist with track repairs as needed.
  14. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining the integrity of the railway system.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Union Pacific Railroad while representing the company to the public.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Track Maintenance Worker At Union Pacific Railroad Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures Basic Literacy And Mathematical Skills Necessary For The Job.

  • Physical Fitness And Strength: The Job Of A Track Maintenance Worker Involves Manual Labor, Often In Challenging Outdoor Environments. Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift Heavy Equipment, Climb Ladders, And Work In Various Weather Conditions.
