Knowledge Of Electrical And Electronics Systems: A Signal Maintainer Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Electrical And Electronics Systems Including Wiring, Circuitry, And Troubleshooting Techniques.
Experience With Railroad Signals: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working With Railroad Signals, Including Installation, Maintenance, And Repair. This Includes Familiarity With Signal Equipment Such As Switch Machines, Track Circuits, And Signal Heads.
Ability To Read Technical Drawings And Blueprints: Signal Maintainers Must Be Able To Read And Interpret Technical Drawings And Blueprints To Accurately Install And Maintain Signal Systems.
