Job Description

As a Signal Maintainer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing signals and communication systems along our rail network.   1. Conduct regular inspections of signal equipment and communication systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet safety standards.
  2. Repair and maintain signal equipment and communication systems to ensure safe and efficient train operations.
  3. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with signal equipment and communication systems, and make necessary repairs.
  4. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on signal equipment and communication systems.
  5. Coordinate with other team members and departments to schedule maintenance and repairs without interrupting train operations.
  6. Respond to emergency situations and address signal failures in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and safety standards related to signal equipment and communication systems.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement new signal maintenance procedures and protocols.
  9. Train and mentor new signal maintenance team members.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working condition.
  11. Comply with all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
  12. Communicate any issues or concerns with signal equipment or communication systems to the appropriate personnel.
  13. Continuously monitor signal equipment and communication systems for potential issues and proactively address them.
  14. Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in signal equipment and communication systems.
  15. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to the company's values and goals.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Railroad Signal Systems: A Strong Understanding Of The Various Types Of Signal Systems Used In Railroad Operations, Such As Wayside Signals, Switch And Interlocking Signals, And Grade Crossing Signals.

  • Electrical And Electronics Skills: Proficiency In Troubleshooting And Repairing Complex Electrical And Electronic Systems, Including Knowledge Of Electronic Circuits, Ac And Dc Power Systems, And Digital Communication Systems.

  • Safety Awareness: A Commitment To Safety And The Ability To Follow Safety Protocols And Procedures While Working On Or Near Active Railroad Tracks And Equipment.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Experience With Mechanical Equipment And Tools, As Well As The Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Manuals And Diagrams, Is Essential For Maintaining And Repairing Signal Equipment.

  • Communication And Teamwork: Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well With Others Are Important For Coordinating With Other Signal Maintainers, Train Crews, And Dispatchers To Ensure Efficient And Safe Signal Operations.
