- Repair and maintain signal equipment and communication systems to ensure safe and efficient train operations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with signal equipment and communication systems, and make necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on signal equipment and communication systems.
- Coordinate with other team members and departments to schedule maintenance and repairs without interrupting train operations.
- Respond to emergency situations and address signal failures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and safety standards related to signal equipment and communication systems.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement new signal maintenance procedures and protocols.
- Train and mentor new signal maintenance team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working condition.
- Comply with all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Communicate any issues or concerns with signal equipment or communication systems to the appropriate personnel.
- Continuously monitor signal equipment and communication systems for potential issues and proactively address them.
- Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in signal equipment and communication systems.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to the company's values and goals.
Knowledge Of Railroad Signal Systems: A Strong Understanding Of The Various Types Of Signal Systems Used In Railroad Operations, Such As Wayside Signals, Switch And Interlocking Signals, And Grade Crossing Signals.
Electrical And Electronics Skills: Proficiency In Troubleshooting And Repairing Complex Electrical And Electronic Systems, Including Knowledge Of Electronic Circuits, Ac And Dc Power Systems, And Digital Communication Systems.
Safety Awareness: A Commitment To Safety And The Ability To Follow Safety Protocols And Procedures While Working On Or Near Active Railroad Tracks And Equipment.
Mechanical Aptitude: Experience With Mechanical Equipment And Tools, As Well As The Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Manuals And Diagrams, Is Essential For Maintaining And Repairing Signal Equipment.
