Job Description

As a Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our safety standards, implementing policies and procedures, and providing training and support to our employees.   1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
  2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  3. Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and ongoing refresher courses for existing employees.
  4. Investigate and analyze safety incidents and make recommendations for prevention.
  5. Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement safe work practices.
  6. Keep abreast of industry safety trends and best practices to continuously improve safety standards.
  7. Develop and maintain safety records and reports for regulatory compliance.
  8. Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans.
  9. Work with management to develop and monitor safety performance metrics.
  10. Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety concerns and provide guidance on safe work practices.
  11. Coordinate with external agencies and vendors to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  12. Conduct safety meetings and provide safety briefings to employees.
  13. Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies in safety matters.
  14. Stay current with changes to safety regulations and communicate updates to the organization.
  15. Promote a safety culture throughout the organization and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Safety And Health, Engineering, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Safety-Related Role, Preferably In The Transportation Or Railroad Industry.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Safety Regulations And Standards, Including Osha, Dot, And Fra.

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Train And Educate Employees On Safety Procedures.

  • Certifications Such As Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Certified Industrial Hygienist (Cih) Are Preferred.
