- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and make recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement safety improvements and best practices.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and provide regular reports to management on safety trends, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry safety standards and regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct safety training for employees and contractors, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety education.
- Serve as a safety resource and provide guidance and support to employees and management on safety-related issues.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies for new projects and initiatives.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills to ensure preparedness for potential safety incidents.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety activities and incidents.
- Foster a strong safety culture by promoting safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and participate in safety committees and meetings to drive safety initiatives and improvements.
- Communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in safety-related inspections and audits.
Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Industrial Engineering, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Safety Management, Preferably In The Railroad Or Transportation Industry.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal And State Safety Regulations, Including Osha And Fra Guidelines.
Experience Conducting Safety Inspections, Audits, And Investigations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Train And Educate Employees On Safety Protocols And Procedures.
