
Safety Specialist

- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and company regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and raise awareness of safety issues.
- Provide training and resources to employees on safety procedures, regulations, and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate safety performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Respond to safety concerns and incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop and maintain safety records and reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Keep up-to-date with industry and regulatory changes related to safety.
- Coordinate with other departments and external agencies to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Serve as a resource and advisor to management and employees on safety-related matters.
- Conduct safety audits and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in safety meetings and committees to discuss safety issues and initiatives.
- Monitor and track safety-related expenses and make recommendations for cost reduction.
- Maintain positive relationships with employees, customers, and communities to promote safety and address any concerns or complaints.
- Stay informed on best practices and new technologies related to safety and make recommendations for implementation.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in safety practices and procedures.
- Represent the company in safety-related meetings, conferences, and events.
- Communicate safety policies and procedures to all employees and ensure consistent implementation across all departments.
- Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies during safety inspections and audits.
- Continuously assess and improve safety training programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Safety And Health Or Related Field.
Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Certified Industrial Hygienist (Cih) Designation.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In A Safety Role, Preferably In The Railroad Or Transportation Industry.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Safety Regulations, Including Osha And Federal Railroad Administration (Fra) Requirements.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Train And Educate Employees On Safety Procedures And Protocols.
