Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Specialist to join our team and help us maintain our high safety standards. As a Safety Specialist at Union Pacific, you will play a crucial role in promoting a safe work environment for our employees and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. If you have a passion for safety and a strong understanding of industry safety protocols, we would love to have you on board.

  1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  3. Provide safety training and education to employees to promote a culture of safety awareness.
  4. Investigate and report on workplace accidents and injuries, identifying root causes and developing strategies for prevention.
  5. Collaborate with management and employees to continuously improve safety processes and procedures.
  6. Monitor and review safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement preventative measures.
  7. Maintain a thorough understanding of industry safety regulations and stay up-to-date on any changes or updates.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all safety requirements.
  9. Conduct safety-related meetings and presentations to communicate safety updates and initiatives to employees.
  10. Develop and maintain safety records and reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  11. Stay informed on emerging safety trends and technologies, and make recommendations for their implementation.
  12. Foster a positive and collaborative working relationship with all employees to promote a strong safety culture.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Or A Related Field

  • Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Other Relevant Safety Certifications

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Safety Role, Preferably In The Transportation Or Railroad Industry

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Safety Regulations, Including Osha And Fra Standards

  • Strong Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And In A Team Environment.
