
Safety Specialist

- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with department managers to develop and deliver safety training programs for employees.
- Investigate and report on workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and make recommendations for preventative measures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and safety-related data.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and provide regular reports to management.
- Stay up-to-date on safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement of safety standards.
- Identify and assess potential risks and develop risk management strategies.
- Conduct safety assessments and provide recommendations for safety equipment and procedures.
- Communicate safety protocols and procedures to employees and ensure their understanding and compliance.
- Serve as a resource for employees on safety-related issues and concerns.
- Collaborate with external agencies and organizations to promote safety initiatives and programs.
- Participate in emergency response and crisis management planning and exercises.
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Industrial Engineering, Or Related Field.
Certification In Occupational Health And Safety (Oh&S) Or Certified Safety Professional (Csp).
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Railroad Or Transportation Industry Safety Management.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal And State Safety Regulations, Including Osha And Fra.
Experience Conducting Safety Audits, Developing Safety Programs, And Providing Safety Training To Employees.
