Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Inspector at Union Pacific Railroad, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our railway operations.   1. Conduct thorough inspections of railway equipment, including locomotives, rail cars, and track infrastructure, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Identify and document any equipment or process deficiencies or deviations from standards.
  3. Utilize specialized tools and equipment to perform inspections and measurements.
  4. Communicate any potential safety hazards or concerns to appropriate personnel and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections and findings.
  6. Collaborate with maintenance and repair teams to address any identified issues and ensure timely and effective resolution.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance and make recommendations for process improvements.
  8. Assist in developing and implementing quality control procedures and protocols.
  9. Train and mentor new quality assurance inspectors.
  10. Participate in safety meetings and inspections to promote a culture of safety and quality.
  11. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to quality and safety.
  12. Ensure all equipment and processes meet or exceed company and industry standards.
  13. Communicate with colleagues and management to address any quality concerns and make recommendations for improvement.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
