- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and anticipate future needs to avoid stockouts and delays in production.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality products.
- Conduct market research and stay informed about industry trends and changes in prices and availability of materials.
- Collaborate with internal departments to determine purchasing needs and establish procurement strategies.
- Create and maintain purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement documents.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as government regulations, in all purchasing activities.
- Review and analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all purchases and contracts.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on purchasing activities and address any concerns or issues.
- Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs in the procurement process.
- Participate in supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure quality standards are met.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and technologies related to procurement.
- Train and mentor junior purchasing staff as needed.
- Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold its values and mission.
Bachelor's Degree In Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Procurement Or Purchasing, Preferably In The Transportation Or Logistics Industry.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Purchasing And Contracting.
Strong Negotiation And Contract Management Skills.
Proficiency In Computer Systems And Software Related To Procurement, Such As Sap Or Oracle.
