- Maintain and troubleshoot computer systems, networks, and software applications used by Union Pacific Railroad.
- Install and configure new hardware and software, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement, making necessary updates and adjustments.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of company data.
- Collaborate with other members of the IT team to plan and execute technology projects and upgrades.
- Provide technical support and assistance to employees regarding IT issues and inquiries.
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and trends to recommend and implement new technologies that will improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new employees on company technology and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry regulations and standards for data protection and information security.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to provide timely updates and resolutions on IT-related matters.
- Monitor and manage IT inventory, including ordering and maintaining stock levels of equipment and supplies.
- Document and maintain accurate records of IT activities, including system updates, changes, and maintenance.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings and projects to identify and resolve system or process-related issues.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In The Railroad Or Transportation Industry
In-Depth Knowledge Of Various Operating Systems, Including Windows And Linux
Proficiency In Programming Languages Such As Java, Python, Or C++
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Troubleshoot And Resolve Technical Issues Quickly And Efficiently
