  1. Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations.
  2. Work closely with various departments to identify potential environmental risks and develop solutions to mitigate them.
  3. Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Stay up-to-date on all federal, state, and local environmental regulations, particularly those relevant to the railroad industry.
  5. Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
  6. Provide guidance and training to employees on environmental regulations and best practices.
  7. Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Develop and maintain environmental management systems and procedures.
  9. Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects and initiatives.
  10. Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies, and work to minimize any potential negative impacts.
  11. Travel to various locations as needed to support environmental initiatives and compliance efforts.
  12. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including presenting environmental data and reports.
  13. Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and goals.
  14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to environmental compliance.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities to improve environmental performance and promote sustainable practices within the company.
