We are currently seeking a dynamic and skilled Communications Coordinator to join our team. As the Communications Coordinator, you will play a vital role in our company's success by developing and executing effective communication strategies to engage our employees, customers, and stakeholders. We are looking for a highly organized and creative individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong understanding of digital and traditional media, and a passion for storytelling. If you are a self-starter, team player, and have a knack for building meaningful relationships, then we want to hear from you!

  1. Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage employees, customers, and stakeholders.
  2. Create and distribute internal and external communications materials, including newsletters, emails, press releases, and social media posts.
  3. Collaborate with various departments to gather information and develop content for communication materials.
  4. Monitor and analyze media coverage and social media activity to identify trends and opportunities for engagement.
  5. Maintain a strong understanding of digital and traditional media channels and utilize them to effectively reach target audiences.
  6. Manage and maintain the company's social media accounts, including creating and scheduling posts and responding to comments and messages.
  7. Create and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with company goals.
  8. Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan to effectively handle any potential issues or emergencies.
  9. Coordinate and support company events and initiatives, including employee town halls and community outreach programs.
  10. Provide support and guidance to internal teams on communication best practices and strategies.
  11. Proactively identify opportunities to improve and enhance the company's communication strategies and processes.
  12. Maintain thorough records and document all communication efforts and outcomes.
  13. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
  14. Collaborate with external agencies and vendors as needed.
  15. Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Marketing, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Communications Role, Preferably In A Corporate Or Transportation Setting.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Create And Deliver Compelling Messaging To A Variety Of Audiences.

  • Proficiency In Microsoft Office Suite And Experience With Social Media Management Tools.

  • Knowledge Of Railroad Industry And Understanding Of Union Pacific's Operations And Culture.
