Job Description

The Office of Innovation is looking for a full-time, DPG Technical Specialist to focus on the sourcing and assessment of Digital Public Goods nominees, conducting the technical assessment, improving related criteria, providing technical assistance and supporting open source communities. Conducting technical assessment of DPG nominees and documenting outcomes transparently. Collecting feedback on the technical assessment process and providing inputs for revisions of the assessment criteria. Acting as the focal point for coordination of the technical assessment with chairs of the Alliance’s Communities of Practice. Identifying areas for technical assessment and, where relevant, providing related support. Under the guidance of the DPG Technical Lead, developing a strategy for engagement of open source communities and contributions to DPGs.

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of progressively responsible professional work experience in relevant field.

  • Significant experience in developing and piloting open source technology products, ideally software, data, and content.

  • Experience with open source community development and track record of engagement with relevant networks

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

  • Understanding of different contexts and experience working in developing countries desired.
