
Prosthetic Orthotic Assistant
We are seeking an enthusiastic Prosthetic Orthotic Assistant to join our team at UNC Health Care. In this role, you will be an integral member of our team, working together to provide the best possible care and support to our patients. The successful candidate will have a passion for helping others and an eagerness to learn about the field of prosthetics and orthotics. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with technology and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of prosthetics and orthotics by providing accurate and comprehensive information to patients and their families.
- Assist in the fabrication of custom prosthetics and orthotics, as well as the fitting, alignment, and adjustment of these devices on patients.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary medical team to ensure the best possible care for patients.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of prosthetics and orthotics equipment.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in the field of prosthetics and orthotics.
- Provide support and guidance to patients and families as needed.
- Participate in educational and training activities to improve knowledge and skills.
