Job Description

At UNC Health Care, we are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Patient Access Intake Specialist to join our team! Our ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize quickly, and an understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance. Our Patient Access Intake Specialist will be responsible for managing and executing the intake process for patients.The successful individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of experience in a healthcare setting, and knowledge of patient access processes. In addition, the successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work with a diverse patient population. Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and execute the intake process for patients in accordance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  2. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient needs and concerns.
  5. Maintain a positive attitude and foster a team-oriented environment.
  6. Multitask and prioritize quickly in order to meet deadlines.
  7. Utilize excellent communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse patient population.
  8. Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare regulations and standards.
  9. Follow all departmental policies and procedures.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
