Job Description

UNC Health Care is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is motivated to maintain and repair mechanical operations in a healthcare setting. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently while still contributing to a team environment. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.The ideal candidate for this position will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years of experience in a maintenance or mechanical role, and a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems is highly desirable. Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and repair mechanical operations in a healthcare setting.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems in electrical systems, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems.
  3. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  4. Ensure regulatory compliance with safety and health standards.
  5. Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical systems.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient operations.
  7. Provide excellent customer service to patients.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  9. Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
  10. Assist in training other staff members on mechanical operations.
