Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our team at UNC Health Care. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a passion for helping others. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately filling prescriptions, and assisting pharmacists with daily operations. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications: Associate degree or certification from an accredited pharmacy technician program, at least 1-2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting, and knowledge of current pharmacy laws and regulations. Additionally, you must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and have a strong commitment to patient safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide excellent customer service to patients and other healthcare providers.
  2. Accurately fill prescriptions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Assist pharmacists with daily operations, including inventory management and recordkeeping.
  4. Maintain a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
  5. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  7. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  8. Monitor and order medications as needed.
  9. Provide support to other pharmacy technicians as needed.
  10. Troubleshoot any problems or issues that may arise.

Job Qualifications
