Job Description

UNC Health Care is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to join our team! We’re looking for a dedicated and reliable professional who has a passion for providing quality maintenance to our patients and staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in HVAC repair and maintenance, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems.
  2. Diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions.
  3. Follow applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  4. Install, repair, and replace HVAC components and systems.
  5. Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
  6. Perform tests to ensure HVAC systems are working correctly.
  7. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  8. Use hand and power tools to complete necessary tasks.
  9. Document all maintenance and repair activities.
  10. Follow safety protocols while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
  11. Respond to emergency HVAC system calls.
  12. Train and supervise other HVAC technicians.
  13. Maintain stock of HVAC supplies and materials.
  14. Operate a vehicle to transport equipment or supplies.
