
Clinical Lab Assistant
UNC Health Care is seeking an experienced Clinical Lab Assistant to join our team. This position requires an individual with a passion for providing exceptional patient care and able to work with a sense of urgency. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills.We are looking for someone with a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical laboratory or similar setting. The Clinical Lab Assistant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is preferred. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and medical terminology is also required. We value individuals who have strong problem-solving skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality care. Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures according to established protocols and standards.
- Accurately record test results in the laboratory information system.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure samples are correctly labeled, stored, and tracked.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the laboratory.
- Maintain updated knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Provide timely and accurate results for patients.
- Follow all quality assurance and control standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
