Job Description

UNC Health Care is seeking an innovative and passionate Cardiac Device Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to successfully work with patients and other healthcare professionals. The Cardiac Device Specialist is responsible for managing the implantation, follow-up and troubleshooting of cardiac implantable devices. This position requires a caring and knowledgeable individual who understands the complexity of cardiac systems and the importance of delivering excellent patient care.The required qualifications for the Cardiac Device Specialist position include a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, certification as a Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), and experience with cardiac device implantation and follow-up. The successful candidate must also have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with other healthcare providers. In addition, the Cardiac Device Specialist must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implantation, follow-up, and troubleshooting of cardiac implantable devices.
  2. Collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  3. Provide excellent patient care and demonstrate a caring and knowledgeable attitude.
  4. Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Implement time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Ensure that all required qualifications are met.
  7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cardiac systems and technology.
  8. Monitor patient progress and outcomes.
  9. Maintain accurate patient records.
  10. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
