Job Description

At UNC Health Care, we are looking for an energetic and dedicated Athletic First Responder to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced first responder and certified athletic trainer with a commitment to providing the highest quality of medical care to our athletes. You must have a strong desire to protect and improve the health and well-being of our athletes.We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and able to work effectively under pressure, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must possess strong problem-solving skills, demonstrate sound decision-making, and remain calm in stressful situations. A passion for sports, health, and fitness are essential. Above all, you must be a team player with a positive attitude.We are seeking an individual with a current state licensure and/or certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC), and/or a National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) certification. In addition, you must have a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting or in the sports medicine field.If you are an experienced Athletic First Responder with a passion for sports and a commitment to providing the highest quality of medical care to our athletes, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide first aid and medical care to athletes in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
  2. Monitor athletes’ health and recovery progress.
  3. Develop and implement injury prevention programs.
  4. Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of athletes’ medical history and treatment plans.
  6. Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and medical staff.
  7. Utilize appropriate equipment and supplies for effective treatment.
  8. Ensure the safety of athletes by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  9. Educate athletes and coaches on proper injury prevention techniques.
  10. Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
