Incumbent uses knowledge gained in post-graduate study in the Life Sciences and familiarity with university and departmental administration, to coordinate/produce communications for Life Sciences, which may include written, video, or audio pieces. Incumbent will help create, promote, and archive stories that represent and promote UCLA Life Sciences' people, programs, and research. Incumbent must be comfortable communicating initiatives, values, and faculty research to a general audience that includes all of Life Sciences' departments, faculty, staff, students, potential students, and their families. Incumbent must be comfortable communicating across a range of topics, from undergraduate education, molecular biology, immunology, and physiology, to ecology, evolution, and psychology. Incumbent should be able to work independently, while also being able to cooperate and work well with others.
Knowledge of and experience of web and graphic design, including ability to use graphics programs
Ability to understand and communicate science and scientific research to a general audience
Knowledge and experience in video and sound production and editing.
