  1. Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of the university's digital assets.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  3. Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the information security team to identify and address security weaknesses and gaps.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve the university's security posture.
  6. Conduct security awareness training and education programs for faculty, staff, and students to promote a culture of security.
  7. Manage and maintain security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management tools.
  8. Investigate and respond to reported security incidents, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  9. Work with external vendors and partners to implement and maintain security solutions and services.
  10. Participate in security audits and assessments, and work with auditors to address any identified security gaps.
  11. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that security is integrated into all technology projects and initiatives.
  12. Communicate and report security risks and incidents to appropriate stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  13. Serve as a subject matter expert on information security and provide guidance and recommendations to other departments and units across the university.
  14. Maintain and update security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve security processes and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Information Security Or A Related Field.

  • Strong Understanding Of Network Security, Firewalls, And Intrusion Detection Systems.

  • Experience With Vulnerability Assessment And Penetration Testing.

  • Familiarity With Industry Standards And Regulations, Such As Hipaa And Ferpa.
