- Configure, install, and maintain network and server infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure operation.
- Provide technical support for complex systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement procedures for system maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor system performance and identify potential areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and implement system upgrades and changes.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies to protect sensitive data.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and recommend new solutions to enhance system capabilities.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- Work closely with other IT teams and departments to provide seamless integration and support for various systems and applications.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours technical support as needed.
- Train and mentor junior team members to improve their technical skills and knowledge.
- Act as a liaison between the IT department and other departments to identify their system needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Assist with budget planning and procurement of hardware and software.
- Strive to continuously improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the systems and applications supported by the team.
- Represent UCLA and the IT department in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Systems Administration, Preferably In A Large Enterprise Environment
Strong Knowledge Of Linux And Windows Operating Systems, As Well As Virtualization Technologies Such As Vmware
Experience With Network And Server Security Protocols, Including Firewalls And Intrusion Detection Systems
Excellent Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Quickly Identify And Resolve Complex Technical Issues.
