- Develop and implement security protocols and strategies to protect sensitive information and systems within a large and diverse organization.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest cyber threats and technology advancements to proactively identify potential vulnerabilities and risks.
- Collaborate with various departments and teams to assess their security needs and provide recommendations for improving their information security practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify and address any potential weaknesses in the organization's systems and processes.
- Monitor and analyze security logs and reports to identify and respond to any security incidents or breaches.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to information security and ensure compliance within the organization.
- Develop and deliver training and educational programs to increase awareness and understanding of information security among employees.
- Participate in incident response and disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure the organization's ability to respond effectively in the event of a security incident.
- Investigate and resolve any security incidents or breaches, including coordinating with external authorities and vendors as necessary.
- Maintain documentation and records related to security policies, procedures, and incidents, and provide regular reports to leadership on the organization's security posture.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to other members of the organization on information security matters.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the organization's information security program to keep up with evolving threats and technologies.
- Conduct research and analysis on emerging security trends and technologies to inform decision-making and improve the organization's security posture.
- Act as a liaison with external security partners and vendors to stay informed about industry trends and best practices and to identify potential areas for collaboration.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field
At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Information Security, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting
Knowledge Of Industry Standard Security Protocols And Best Practices, Such As Iso 27001 And Nist
Experience With Vulnerability Assessment And Remediation, Incident Response, And Risk Management
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, Along With The Ability To Work Independently And In A Team Environment
