As the Food Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing quality and diverse dining options for our students, faculty, and staff.   1. Oversee all aspects of food service operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and service.
  2. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, as well as state and federal regulations.
  3. Hire, train, and supervise a team of food service staff, including chefs, servers, and kitchen assistants.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to improve the dining experience for students, faculty, and staff.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of food and supplies.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, chairs, and serving stations.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute special events, such as theme nights and holiday celebrations.
  8. Communicate with customers to address any complaints or concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  9. Prepare and manage budgets, including forecasting and controlling costs.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in food service management, and make recommendations for improvements and new initiatives.
  11. Work closely with the marketing team to promote dining services and increase customer engagement.
  12. Uphold UCLA's values and mission, and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  13. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff.
  14. Ensure compliance with all university policies and procedures related to human resources, financial management, and operations.
  15. Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and accountability within the dining services team.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Food Service Management, Preferably In A Large-Scale Operation.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Motivate A Diverse Team.

  • Knowledge Of Food Safety Regulations And Experience Implementing And Maintaining Food Safety Protocols.

  • Experience With Budget Management, Cost Control, And Inventory Management.
