1. Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the university's network services, in alignment with the overall goals and mission of UCLA.
2. Lead and manage a team of network engineers and support staff, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure the successful delivery of network services.
3. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a reliable, secure, and innovative network infrastructure to support the needs of the university community.
4. Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and addressing any issues or areas for improvement.
5. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand their network needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in network technology, making recommendations for the adoption of new technologies to enhance the university's network services.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the university's network infrastructure is up-to-date and cost-effective.
8. Create and manage the network services budget, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
9. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to network services, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
10. Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and professional development among team members.
11. Represent the university's network services in meetings, conferences, and other events, communicating the department's goals, initiatives, and achievements.
12. Continuously seek feedback from stakeholders and customers to improve the quality and effectiveness of network services.
13. Ensure the security and integrity of the university's network infrastructure, implementing proper measures to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
14. Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring the university's network services are prepared for any potential disruptions.
