  1. Provide expert legal advice and representation to UCLA students on a wide range of legal issues, including but not limited to immigration, housing, employment, and civil rights.
  2. Conduct thorough and comprehensive assessments of students' legal needs and develop individualized plans to address those needs.
  3. Utilize counseling skills to provide emotional support and guidance to students navigating legal challenges.
  4. Advocate for students' rights and interests, both within the university and in the larger community.
  5. Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  6. Collaborate with other university departments and external organizations to provide holistic support for students.
  7. Develop and facilitate workshops and trainings on legal topics for students, faculty, and staff.
  8. Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and legal services provided.
  9. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance legal and counseling skills.
  10. Support the university's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion by promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.
  11. Serve as a resource and liaison for students from underrepresented or marginalized backgrounds.
  12. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to student legal services.
  13. Handle sensitive and complex cases with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
  14. Collaborate with other Counseling Attorneys and university staff to provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to student support.
  15. Attend university and community events to raise awareness of legal services and promote student success.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School.

  • Active License To Practice Law In The State Of California.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience Practicing Law, With A Focus On Counseling And Advising Clients.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Legal And Ethical Principles Related To Mental Health Counseling.

  • Experience Working In A Higher Education Or University Setting, Preferably In A Counseling Or Advising Role.
