
BruinBus Transit Operator

As a Transit Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bus system and providing exceptional customer service to our passengers. - Operate bus routes according to the established schedule and route to ensure timely transportation for passengers.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure the safe operation of the bus.
- Maintain a clean and well-kept bus, including regular cleaning and inspections.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Keep accurate records of daily activities, including passenger counts, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Continuously monitor and report any changes in road or weather conditions that may affect the bus schedule.
- Assist passengers with special needs, including those with disabilities or strollers.
- Attend regular training sessions to stay current on safety procedures, route changes, and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient and effective operation of the bus system.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing BruinBus and UCLA in a positive manner.
- Serve as an ambassador for BruinBus, promoting our services and maintaining a positive relationship with the UCLA community.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergency situations that may arise while operating the bus.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of bus stops and other designated areas.
- Adhere to all Federal and State regulations related to the operation of commercial vehicles.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): The Primary Qualification For A Bruinbus Transit Operator Is A Valid Cdl With Passenger Endorsement. This Ensures That The Operator Is Trained And Qualified To Operate Large Buses Safely And Efficiently.
Clean Driving Record: A Bruinbus Transit Operator Should Have A Clean Driving Record With No Major Violations Or Accidents. This Demonstrates Responsible And Safe Driving Habits, Which Are Crucial For The Safety Of Passengers And Other Drivers On The Road.
Customer Service Skills: As A Representative Of Ucla, A Bruinbus Transit Operator Should Possess Excellent Customer Service Skills. This Includes Being Friendly, Helpful, And Able To Handle Difficult Situations With Professionalism And Patience.
Physical Fitness: Operating A Large Bus Requires Physical Stamina And Strength. Bruinbus Transit Operators Should Be Able To Sit For Long Periods Of Time, Have Good Hand-Eye Coordination, And Be Able To Assist Passengers With Disabilities.
