Welcome to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Career Services team! We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Director of Career Services; LL.M. Career Advisor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the career development and success of our LL.M. students, as well as contribute to the overall strategic direction of our department.   1. Develop and implement career development programs, workshops, and events specifically tailored to the needs of LL.M. students.
  2. Provide individual career counseling and coaching to LL.M. students, including resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, and job search strategies.
  3. Stay current on industry trends and labor market data to provide relevant and up-to-date career advice to students.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with legal employers to facilitate job opportunities for LL.M. students.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the Career Services team to develop and execute departmental initiatives and strategic goals.
  6. Utilize technology and social media platforms to promote career resources and opportunities to LL.M. students.
  7. Assist in the planning and execution of career fairs and networking events.
  8. Develop and maintain career-related resources, including handouts, online materials, and databases.
  9. Serve as a liaison between LL.M. students and the legal community, fostering relationships and promoting the program.
  10. Stay informed on the LL.M. curriculum and requirements to better advise students on course selection and career paths.
  11. Track and report on LL.M. student employment outcomes and career development progress.
  12. Mentor and guide student assistants or interns supporting the Career Services department.
  13. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to career counseling, legal market trends, and higher education.
  14. Contribute to the overall success and growth of the Career Services department through active participation in team meetings and strategic planning.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Law, Such As A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Or Master Of Laws (Ll.m.), From An Accredited University.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Career Advising, Preferably In A Law School Setting.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Legal Career Paths, Job Market Trends, And Recruitment Strategies.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build Relationships With Students, Alumni, And Employers.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Develop And Implement Career Programming And Resources, As Well As Effectively Manage Projects And Budgets.
